After 15 years of successful residential development and building in Lexington, KY we have switched from wearing a “hard hat” to a “bakers hat”. For years I have baked family favorites and new inventions for family and friends, receiving compliments and raves. I think I’m most known for my traditional Christmas Cookie Care packages that my husband, David and I would painstakingly package to mail to family in all corners of the United States.
David, a seasoned engineer now on his third retirement, (the first was IBM, the second was/is residential development and construction) has taken on the task for me of web design, accounting and numerous other tasks, too many to list.
Having grown up in Yonkers, NY I am the youngest of four children to Lillian and Joseph Pierorazio, being the second generation from Italy of a typical American family of lofty goals and a family of high achievers.
Mom made sure dinner was on the table by 5:30 every evening, while she and Dad worked full time jobs. Mom would never entertain the idea of Mac & Cheese or Italian gravy from a jar (some call it tomato sauce, but we call it gravy) as a shortcut to preparing our meals. So I learned at an early age that good, pure ingredients count for the best taste. I love to bake! I have always been intrigued with recipes of high difficulty, intricacy and skill. My Mom marveled in how I enjoyed baking and spending so much time on detail, to which I would respond “I’m a chip off the block-what do you expect” and “the apple doesn’t fall from the tree”. Finally after years of contemplating what kind of business I should start for myself at the urging of my husband David, it came to me not surprisingly as I began to assemble the pans, cookie cutters and varieties of chocolate for my annual Christmas Cookie Care packages. I love to bake!

I have been blessed with a loving husband and family, both thank goodness have wonderful appetites. Mom at 88 years young, still has dinner on the table every night for Dad and Uncle Pete (Mom’s brother). With special thanks to my sister, Olivia for her Christmas gift to me known as “The Baking Bible” and to members of the family too many to list, for their encouragement and support and for prepping the taste buds of many out-of-state friends with numerous sample boxes of dolci by Phyllis.
